Tanjong Katong , where Emerald of Katong condo resides, can trace its history back to the 19th century, when it was predominantly coastal area. At this time, indigenous Orang Laut communities from various locations around Singapore’s coastline lived here – including Tanjong Pagar further west – engaging in fishing and maritime activities as means of sustenance.
